Joy of Music, Music, Joy of Music Festival

Guitar and music lovers will be, once again, offered the opportunity to attend Prof. Pierri’s masterclasses which have become a highlight of his visits to Hong Kong.

This year there will be few changes in the way these events will be conducted:

The following distinguished professors have been invited to participate with students they have chosen – their attendance to be confirmed and the order of listing reflecting the order in which students will be presented:

Prof. Kenneth KWAN (from Xinghai Conservatory - Guangzhou), Prof. Chris WONG (Baptist Univ. and Chinese Univ. HK), Prof. BAI Pu (from Xian Conservatory) , Prof. CHEN Zhi (from Central Conservatory - Beijing), Prof. Denny YEH (from Shanghai Conservatory), Prof. Tina Karen LO (APA - Hong Kong) and Prof. CHEN, Shan Shan (from Macau Academy of Performing Arts).

Some of these students will be showcased in recital lasting between 30 to 40 minutes to take place before each set of masterclasses. During the rest of the time allocated to each Conservatory/ University/Academy, selected students will be working with Prof. Pierri in individual masterclasses, also open to the public.

The audience will be able not only to regail in the performances of these young guitarists, but they will also be able to witness their interaction with Prof. Pierri during the masterclasses.

For those of you who might have problems following the presentation in English, Kenneth Kwan, as usual, will be providing a simultaneous translation into Chinese.

We want to specially thank the Tom Lee Music Foundation for the generous offer of the venue and facilities where these masterclasses / guitar festival will take place.
